Yale transfer forward Isaac Celiscar has committed to Baylor following his official visit on Monday. Celiscar becomes the third addition in this year’s transfer portal cycle, joining Liberty sharpshooter Brett Decker and Penn State floor general Kayden Mingo.
The 6-foot-6, 210-pound forward averaged 13.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game over 31 starts this season, earning Second-Team All-Ivy League recognition. He shot 57% from the field, 41% from 3-point range (on limited attempts), and 80% from the free-throw line.
Celiscar finished his sophomore year strong, scoring 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting while grabbing 12 rebounds and dishing out five assists in a tight 68–67 NIT loss to UNC Wilmington.
In the Ivy League Tournament, he paced Yale with 27 points in a semifinal win over Cornell before delivering 17 points, 11 rebounds and five assists in an overtime defeat to Penn in the championship game.
As a freshman, the Winter Haven, Florida native appeared in all 30 games, averaging 7.1 points and 5.0 rebounds in 20.7 minutes per contest. In the NCAA Tournament first round, he contributed 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting in an 80–71 loss to Texas A&M.
The Bears have had success with Yale transfers in the past, as guard Makai Mason averaged 14.9 points and 3.4 assists across 28 starts during the 2018-2019 season. Last summer, when Baylor represented Team USA at the World University Games, the Bears also borrowed Yale center Samson Aletan to round out their roster.
Celiscar is listed as the No. 102 overall transfer and No. 14 small forward by 247 Sports; he will have two years of eligibility remaining.
