Coming off of a great spring with Baylor Soccer, freshman forward Grace White was called up to the United States Women’s National U-19 July training camp. White is the first Baylor Bear to earn a call-up from any level of the USWNT since Julie James was called up in 2018 and 2019.
“We’re so excited for Grace and incredibly proud of this accomplishment,” said Baylor head coach Michelle Lenard. “Since arriving at Baylor in January, she’s made a tremendous impression with her competitiveness, humility, and desire to improve every day. Opportunities like this are earned, and this invitation reflects the level of player she’s becoming. We know she’ll represent Baylor exceptionally well, and we’re looking forward to seeing how this experience helps prepare her for an exciting freshman season.”
White, a native of Elsberry, Missouri, enrolled at Baylor a semester early to integrate with her new team and got off to a flying start with back-to-back hat tricks in spring exhibition games. While she eventually cooled down from that ridiculous scoring pace, the freshman looks to already be a key part of the Bears’ reloading efforts.
Coach Lenard and her squad are looking to capitalize on their Sweet 16 appearance from last season, but they must replace the production of 2025 Big 12 Midfielder of the Year Tyler Isgrig, who graduated and is now playing professionally in France.
White is not the only Bear with a national team call-up this summer, as goalkeeper Azul Alvarez earned a roster spot with the Mexican U-23 women’s national team at the end of May.
The Bears will be back in Waco preparing for the 2026 season within the next month, with a preseason exhibition game at SMU on August 8 and the season opener at Arkansas on August 12.
