Baylor baseball has landed its fourth transfer portal commitment of the offseason in Bradley left-handed pitcher Davis Webb. He joins Miami’s Tate DeRias, Winthrop’s Brayden Gilley and Texas State’s Keller Eberly as the fourth pitcher added to bolster the Bears’ staff this summer.

This season, the 6-foot-6, 260-pound Webb appeared in 16 games for the Braves, making four starts, while logging 52.2 innings. He led Bradley in wins (4) and punchouts (67) and held opponents to a .254 batting average, while posting a 6.66 ERA and 1.80 WHIP. Webb struggled with command, however, as he has issued 53 free passes and 19 wild pitches.

Prior to Bradley, Webb spent two seasons at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he totaled 19 innings and 25 strikeouts. Webb was a stand-out player at Tipton High School in Iowa, as he was named First Team All-River Valley Conference and selected to the Quad Cities Times All-Eastern Iowa Baseball Team.

Baylor’s set to return pitchers Zack Wallace (So.) and Mason Green (Jr.), who will be coming back from injury, while losing Ethan Calder (Sr.) to graduation and potentially Lucas Davenport (RJr.) to the MLB Draft. Webb, a rising fourth-year senior, will have two years of eligibility remaining, assuming “five-for-five” is the norm moving forward.
