If they play like that, they beat Az and Houston pretty easily. Don't think they can repeat it but this team is different when they know Dave's job is on the line.

Lose today and Dave was gone and they knew it. This teams main issues are upstairs

First time BU has held a Big12 opponent to 3 points since a 17-3 win over KSt in 2006.

First time BU has held a Big12 opponent other than KU to less than 10 points since the 71-7 win over IowaSt in 2013.

Other than those, the only other times we have held conference opponents to single digits was over KU 7 times.

This. Today proved that this roster has enough talent to play good football by Big 12 standards. It just doesn't show up and do it consistently. In fact, it's done it for 60 full minutes just once all year, and that was today.

Cooper Lanz had a sack, becoming just the second Baylor D-lineman to record one this season.

They have a decent chance to win the last two if they show any pulse. The admin will try to sell you on that unfortnately.

Something close to this team shows up, they lose close to Utah and then win out. If that happens, I'll be shocked if the admin makes a move unfortunately.

If we go 7-5, I'll expect to see Aranda back next season. I've said that all year, and I still believe it. And if we play the way we did today, we'll likely go 7-5.

We're just mediocre enough to be stuck in a really frustrating limbo.

Still, not terrible under the circumstances. UCF wasn't brining many folks.

For me, this game should not move the needle either way. The rest really shouldn't either. Either you saw the first 8 games, or you didn't. Either you saw the last few years, or you didn't.

A really depressing loss today and maybe they would have put somebody else at the top for the last few games. Short of taking the last three by storm and a decent bowl game, it doesn't really prove that much, except for the consistent inconsistency of BU football.

Having said all that, I really don't have any expectations for a change by BU. But i don't think it is a number of wins that will make any difference. Getting this win was great. I don't expect a change regardless of finish. But they might if the circumstances are favorable in some way, potential hires, contract agreements, if any behind the scenes feelers are out there, whatever.

I still feel like they stay put and hire some different staffers.

Its a good question. Rumblings about Washington to the league.. but he hasn't shown enough and doesn't have the raw burst needed to go high without higher production. He's very incredibly injury prone so I'm sure that will factor into his decision.

Someone probably has to go.. Dawson would be an elite level number 2 and red zone guy with Knighten and Turner splitting top carries. Would guess Washington insists on trying to go pro and hopes a team takes a flyer on him. Great college player when healthy but its not as great a setup for him as it once was.
