This is why the talent conversation is important. This offense, especially, has a ton of talent, and it's showing it today.

UCF has one of the better pass defenses in the Big 12, and we're cutting through them like a knife through hot butter.

This game just shines a light on how much we've been underachieving on offense the past couple of weeks.

Honestly, it just pisses me off more that it takes three or four losses every season before our coach and team realize that playing clean football and winning are actually important.
Its a leadership problem.

Maybe even bleeding into the program from the outside where higher ups look down on a culture that's proud of winning.

Unfortunately, our defense isn't very talented. But I'm honestly less bothered by that than the facts that we're also not sound or disciplined.

I never doubted that we would come out and look good, and I think that we win handily. This team always starts playing much better when the rumblings about Dave's job security start up.


If it works out that way it's kind of a microcosm of what we see each game...no urgency until we are really down in a game...and no urgency for the season until we are really down.

I agree. You can't always control your talent (injuries happen, for instance). But you can always be sound and disciplined.
